Next year at the earliest.

James Allison mentioned that this year is an interesting one for development and Ferrari seem to have a lot of good scope. The car is very solid, balanced, but th Mercedes has a lot more detail, and Ferrari have more tokens left than Merc w/ remoured engine upgrade quite soon (Spain).

So yeah, unlikely to be bang on Merc pace any time soon, but their race pace seemed closer than their quali pace (once released) and I wouldn't be surprised if it get a bit more interesting mid season.

For some reason I'm more disappointed with the sound of the cars this year than last. I think it's because I've been watching a lot of old races, but there's a lot of excitement missing in the soundtrack and it really makes a big difference.

the moment they can sort out their Quali strategy, they need to be in front of Williams to ensure Merc can not continue to use them as their rear gunners, Ferrari lost 17sec in the first 20 laps behind Williams.

Kimi was hit on the rear left by Sainz at the start. At the pitstops it was the rear left that wasn't going on, so it seems the impact damaged the hub which ultimately led to retirement.

I'm pretty sure it was Nasr, he hit Raikkonen on the right, and hit Maldonado on the left, taking the latter out.

Welcome back to F1, here are the highlights of the Australian Grand Prix, in no particular order

-Maldonado crashes [insert cliché Maldonado joke] ( lets get that done and over with)
-Kyvat, Bottas and Magnussen fail to start the race
-Sauber double points
-Mercedes 1-2 Wins
-Ferrari podium but Raikonen DNF
-McLaren, 1 car finishes a race distance, 1 car retires even before race start.
-Lotus, it must suck to be them right now
-Red bull, starting to look like lotus from 2013 through 2014
-Manor, why are they even there in the first place
-Toro Rosso, I can't comment on them because I barely saw them on TV
-Williams, good but could've been better.

Sainz hit the back of Raikkonen going into T1, Kimi lost the car a bit on the contact which allowed Nasr and Maldonado to get alongside him in a 3 wide that didn't work well for Pastor.

i like to see a 2 stop strategy being best but with the possibility of a one stopper with a careful strategy and that's what these tyres offered ; unfortunately the safety car right at the beginning when the cars were at their heaviest tipped the balance and made the one stop best for most cars

- What a classic, save fuel and attack on the last lap, only Mercedes can provide cliffhangers like that. Behind them there's a void of mediocre driving, bad stop, mumbling about fuel for no reason and another two seconds gap.
- What's the penalty for unsafe release, are they pretending that it didn't happen like Alonso's crash ?
- Lotus is slow in Q and unreliable for one driver, perfect combination. You'd think that in a team that might not be around long they'd try a bit harder.

i'm not giving up yet.... would have been a closer race if williams wasnt planted right in front of vettel in the ferrari like a mack truck... lol
the only hope it looks like to challenge mercedes this year is ferrari... williams being a costumer team of mercedes will never catch them.
there is a glimmer of hope with the ferrari planned engine upgrade coming so dont give up yet but i do have to agree doesnt look good lol

No further action will be taken against Ferrari for Raikkonen's unsafe release.Reason:wheel retention system worked and the team stopped him
