Whilst they could not exactly replicate the race conditions, they could have got dyno tested at elevated temps, they would have an idea of the likely extremes of temperature, what is incredible is that based on what we have seen so far they don't seem to have much clue where the limits are. It's almost like they have put the engine in the car a year too soon.Webber2011 wrote:

I.e. Can they add bodywork to simulate the packaging, and maybe even increase the ambient temperature in an attempt to replicate what they expect to encounter ?
I find it strange that with all the millions they pour into a project like this that something along these lines hasn't been attempted.
