Just checking... is the COP shown in the results the 'actual' or 'adjusted' figure?

On the left: official data. On the right: extrapolated data (assuming that a manually adjusted CoP was used for everybody).

PS: (it's half english, half italian...you get it anyway, right? :) )

Happy for the (tight) victory! Just 0.35s apart from JJR on a 6 minutes track...impressive!

I hope the above posted data help you, guys, developing the car for the next races.

On my side, it appears pretty clearly that i need to improve rear downforce, specifically the rear wing. I guess i won't be happy until i reach JJR's 4550N on the rear axle... Probably reducing front wing AoA will help me a bit...

@RicME85: your car is elegantly designed, and has got good rear downforce, which could be further improved working on your diffuser (as i suggested you earlier). An actual front wing would help you a lot!!

It's possible that something weird happened with the simulation for your car, I want to double check this. I marked your result as 'provisional' for the time being.

It's the adjusted figure.

Congratulations to the winner Variante!
Your car is a monster, I'm impressed about the total DF, it will be almost impossible to reach that numbers in the next two races.
A question: where did you take the data in the table above (DF/DR/COP)?

Congratulation to JJR too.
You have been successful in developing an aero concept the is at the same time very realistic and different from all the other teams.
Can I ask you wich software do you use to test your car? I guess it is OCCFD, but without the errors I've made (wheels missing, my fault when I did not check the results with paraview).

Finally: congratultions to CAEdevice. The result is the same as the last year (considering the absence of CSR), but the gap is smaller. My target is to reach a DF arond 7500-7700N for the next race.

I'm sure that your car is a good project, that results sound strange to me too, but I can't see your diffuser so I'm not sure about it.

From the KVRC website.

Similar to Variante's table.. but I like to work in coefficients... maybe that is just because I can't count passed 10?

So here is Front and Rear Downforce expressed as coefficients (actual, not adjusted)

Yes, I wonder that too... if you can Increase rear downforce, whilst still keeping that monster front wing, it will be very difficult to beat... But it looks like JJR and others will push you hard!

I womder how many more monster front wings we will see at round 2?!

"rear downforce" is the point

Monster front wing? I had one (see the car unveiling) but I decided to unmont it for the race. I have an idea about the "weapons" of Variante: high attention to details and... another thing ;).
I'm thinking about the rear DF of JJR car and I have no idea about get closer to it.

I like the look of your car, and the front end looks, from the top, kind of similar to the Toyota LMP1 that is running today at Silverstone in the WEC... however, I am intrigued by what the shape of your bodywork is under those front suspension covers.... That Toyota will have a monster dual element front diffuser between the wheels....

Well I think you were right to do that; you have just as much front downforce as JJR, but not as much rear downforce, so adding more front wing would've just added more drag with no performance gain, in fact, it might have reduced your rear downforce even more....
