I don't think Rosberg will challenge lewis. We quickly forget that it was the safety car that even allowed Nico to see Hamilton's taillight and to make matters worse he could not pass him with faster tyres. So if all goes well and there are no safety cars then Lewis will continue to dangle a carrot in front of Nico.

I suggest you rewatch the race instead. Lewis was about 8-9 seconds ahead before the safety car

Edit: 9.7 seconds to be more precise. There's no way in hell Rosberg would've ever clawed that gap back.

Which is why driver comparisons are a waste of time. One person's missed opportunity is another person's evidence of impotence.

That's why I say the points don't lie, the order of the cars crossing the line is purpose of this competition. Anything else is chaff, a distraction.

So from this point onwards, let's live in the present. Posts lamenting the past will be scrubbed.

Interesting that Hamilton is referencing Malaysia a lot:

He's not saying 'we got on top of the tyres in China, Bahrain will be cooler etc.' so my inference is they expect some of the conditions (perhaps rear limited nature of circuit) to be more similar to Malaysia.

Correct. Probably going to be the last super hot session before Budapest in mid summer so likely trying to get lots of data to analyse before then.
