Did you miss the end of last years race? Nico on the faster tires, & using engine modes he wasn't supposed to, wasn't able to get past Hamilton.
i think that situation has to do more with who was attacking hamilton than tire shredding lol

Clearly it wasn't anything to do with there being a problem with passing - after all, Hamilton managed to pass and make it stick.

It's just me coz in both SKY and RLT interviews Nico seems to be rather ... happy !?!
Or at least not disappointed in my point of view ...
You could call me a conspiracy theory believer coz Nico said that in FP2 Ferrari was quicker but after night analysis and changed setup in FP3 they found more pace ...
So maybe that's the reason he was not upset ...
But what if Ferrari did found some pace (if not more than they) between FP2 and FP3?
Ehhh? :?

He didn't seem happy to me. But if he was then he's just putting on a brave face.

Us clever formula 1 watchers wont even entertain the thought that Hamilton overused his race tyres in Q2.... Hamilton is no idiot. He has been biasing his car toward the race ever since Spa 2014. He has at least 8 tenths of hidden pace in his pocket.

After Q2 he was suprised at the gap to the rest of the field and he actually turned it down for Q3. Didn't you all see the pole lap video?! The boss didnt even take any curbs when vettel was riding on the white line pretty much every where on the limit. This is not even a contest. It is obvious to me or anyone with trained eyes that Hamilton sandbagged that Q3..... Ham was all smiles in the press conference. Smiling because he fooled all of you.

TL:DR Hamilton has 8 tenths in his pocket and he is walking the race tomorrow!

At this point in the season, One of the few things I'm willing to bank on is that W06 might be the most difficult car in the field to set-up.
I made that point in pre-season testing based on what the drivers were saying. The Mercedes W06 has a very specific sweet spot. Looks like I was right.
Are you two serious ?

The Merc dominated last season on tracks of all types, high downforce, low downforce, traction limited - you name it. This car had the widest operating window of any car, the car is a beast !

Ferrari make a big step and start closing in and you seem to think that it's because the Merc is highly strung, ridiculous.

Resigned to his fate maybe ?

I thought he'd run out of ideas but now he seems to be over thinking everything, it's very simple, drive as fast as you can in both qually and the race.

I'll go with Jord4n.

Just as in pre-season, it turns out that the sweetspot is much harder to find than with the w05.
Hamilton can cope with it, Rosberg not, that's where the difference in QWF also lies, I think. Hamilton working around the issues the car might have.

Funny. Hamilton actually called the car a beast in the PC. Trust me guys. Nico and Ham were smiling because the car has more pace in it. Nico fluffed up the sandbag in Q2 and fluffed it again in Q3.. Lew and Nico walking the race. Mark this post.

I can't see them walking it. Their pace was substantially down on Ferrari's in practice (Ferrari running in the mid 1:39s, and Mercedes in the low 1:40s). Honestly, I'd be surprised if someone other than Vettel won tomorrow.
