Red Bull RB11 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The car itself is "old". Looks like nothing has changed.

Rear wing end plate doesn't have the long vertical slot anymore. Not sure when it disappeared though.

The tip remains the same position if you look from above; it's however located a tad higher. They also widened the pylons.

EDIT: correction, it's neither located higher, but they shaved off some of the structure right behind the tip.

Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

That's really not as big a change as I thought it would be.

Red Bull philosophy is still to run as much air possible under the nose, completely different to what Merc are doing

I don't think it's shorter. It might look so because they definitely chipped away underneath the nose just behind the tip, bit the tip itself looks to be around the same place.

The new parts for RB11 arrived this morning. Maybe they are going to change some more parts over the weekend.

It looks like they have the bended inwards pilons, as does the Williams had last year (not sure if they have it this year as well)

yeah, it's inline with the start of the wing. Old one hung over the wing by a fair bit.
