I'm pretty sure I saw this incident on TV, but not from the onboard camera. From this perspective it's truly amazing!

Like Kimi in 2008, but this one ended well.
Great post PZ, nailed it.PlatinumZealot wrote: http://i.imgur.com/i2zBEn8.gif
Note where the braking zones begin and end. It is not difficult at all. From the Moment Danny stuck his wing beside raikkonen's wheel in the braking zone and Raikkonen turned in I know it was Raikkonen's fault. You can't close the door on a guy in the braking zone. That's just crazy. You either have to do it before the braking zone or after it when his car is not in the hands of the Gods. On the other hand though if Daniel shoved it up the inside and lost control while kimi is on the line after the braking zone (towards the apex)... that is a different case all together.
kimi was not closing the door, he needed to turn into the corner...or do u expect him to vanish??ChrisF1 wrote:Kimi wasn't in front so as to take the line, he HAD to give a cars width and was closing the door.
Yeah that corner is very tight and doesnt offer a great deal of space to be honest.siskue2005 wrote:kimi was not closing the door, he needed to turn into the corner...or do u expect him to vanish??ChrisF1 wrote:Kimi wasn't in front so as to take the line, he HAD to give a cars width and was closing the door.
No good save at all, he's lucky not to have hit Ericsson there. There was way to much speed there. If Ericsson braked just a tiny fraction more there would have been mayhem and Sainz would have been critisied to a pulp. That was a 'got away with murder' right there [not literally offcourse].Andres125sx wrote:

Exactly, Kimi is at least a full car width to the right (drivers) of the normal racing line.ChrisF1 wrote:siskue2005 wrote:kimi was not closing the door, he needed to turn into the corner...or do u expect him to vanish??ChrisF1 wrote:Kimi wasn't in front so as to take the line, he HAD to give a cars width and was closing the door.
Compare Kimi's line to the Red Bull in front of him and the Williams behind - Kimi turns earlier to close off the overtake, but it's too late. Normal racing line enters from wider as evidenced by the other cars seen in that gif.
he can legitimately block or take defensive line, just like grosjeon did to max, it is the responsibility of the driver behind to not hit the driver in front.djos wrote: Exactly, Kimi is at least a full car width to the right (drivers) of the normal racing line.
Already replied in the other thread, but as I said luck played his role, as Sainz played his too.Manoah2u wrote:No good save at all, he's lucky not to have hit Ericsson there.
