Belgian Champ Car GP

Post

Hi all,

I've just got back from the official press conference of the Belgian Champ Car GP. All the drivers were there so and I have conducted 3 interviews. Pictures will be online in our gallery as soon as possible, just like the interviews will be online in our newssection asap.

I have to disappoint you, but I couldn't get an interview with Sebastien Bourdais as he was too busy with all the other reporters around him. Hopefully I can get a hold on him on Sunday as we will be going to the Champ Car race at Zolder :wink:

Here is the first newsarticle regarding the press conference:

Interview with Robert Doornbos. He's really a sweet and normal guy! It was great to have an interview with him.

Bravo, I can't believe you managed to get an interview with A1GP and ChampCar race winners, and they're very proffessional too.
Congrats guys. =D>

Should be a good show with lots of PASSING, now that Dangerous Dan is parked, Mario will do fine, and you will love the sound of the sweet turbos, what the fans will really like is how close your going to get to the drivers and cars. The Rahal kid is going to impress alot of people, funny his Dad owns a IRL team but will not let him in a crapwagon{ask Tracy}

Dont know why, but never managed to learn something about IRL - Champcar... I use to see it like American F3... anyway I hope my perception begins to change if someone posts the Car/engine specs... :D and maybe more if someone can estimate a laptime comparison between one of those cars and a F1 and its close enough... :twisted:

Bourdais broke the track record at Laguna Seca set last year by 2006 Toyota F1 car, Dp01 has been quicker 3 to 5 seconds than the previuos Lolas, in fact the old Lola set a track record a Assen at a demo run, and the DP01 set track record this week in Zolder

btw the tech spec in f1 technical are for the old Lola's and Reynard, new car, has ground effects this year, paddle shifting, as you will see this weekend now standing starts also, we kinda of have to say it's F1 lite

Even if the Panoz looks good I regret the 90's years of the Indy cars championship with Reynard, Lola, Swift, Gurney and Penske, the same for the engines with such a war between Honda, Ford, Ilmor and Toyota. I finished several readings about this era for a Focus on Penske PC26 for my site and this was a really really good time. But you could tell the same with Formula 3000, Formula 2, F3... I hope you enjoy the Euroboss serie at Zolder, so many different type of cars, from F1 Turbo to IRL :!:

Hi all,

At the moment I'm at the press center at Zolder. The practice session of Champ Car is over now an we've already had a red flag situation as Katherine Legge lost her rear tyre and stopped on track.

Pictures will be online when we're back home.

I'll keep you up to date :wink:
