We are all concerned about safety, but I think this is a little bit too much. You really expect a driver to wait with this kind of problem until he pits? Massa said it was making his head go high up under acceleration and down low under braking and so his concentration was hurt. Can you tell us which is more dangerous, that little piece of CF on track, which we have in almost every race, or him losing control of his car because of this, say at turn 8?
Slow down aside and throw it on the grass? Are you serious? Was he supposed to signal too? How far in the grass was he supposed to throw it so that it would be safe enough?
This is racing, these things happen, and if the other competitors can't deal with it (although I'm sure they can, none of them complained), then they don't belong there.
