I would say that Porshes budget is a couple times bigger than that of Manor (but several times smaller than top spenders in F1 but as we are comparing it to Manor car). But I acctualy think, that the speed ot those LMP1 cars is the reason for much more downforce for faster F1 cars in 2017.

Not sure about Porsche (who are new to it relatively and have set up costs to consider including a Wind Tunnel), but Audi and Toyota are spending less than Manor did in 2014.

Audi spends 240 million dollars a year.
In 2013 that budget matched Mercedes 2013 budget.

A faulty waste-gate was the cause of Verstappen's drivability problems in qualifying. A turbo problem occurred in FP3, the Renault guys made some changes to the turbo system between FP3 and qualifying but they did a shitty job by the look of it.

Pathetic renault can barely match 2014 ferrari in a manor    =D> =D>
Also, denying merc's considerable advantage over ferrari is pointless. Renault and honda are not in the same league.

Verstappen was sold as the future of F1, with Sainz there merely to be embarrassed. So far it's the opposite.

Same at RB with Kvyat thoroughly obliterating the Ricciardo myth so far this season.

Let's consider that Verstappen (still 17 y.o.?) has not the same level of racing experience than Sainz, and he has managed to achieve more points (10 versus 9)

That Audi budget claim is false, its not accurate for a start and is for ALL Audi motorsport, including DTM and a variety of other minor motorsport series.

"For a budget like that,($200M)" says Dr Ullrich, "I could do touring cars, Le Mans and the American Le Mans Series for several years."

The article you linked to has no citations whatsoever, and has been passed around like an oversized joint, which is what the writer was smoking when he wrote it.

That article is five years old. This one is from 2014. I need something from 2014 saying that particular quote is untrue.

• Audi's annual LMP1-H budget is $242 million.

As I added in my edit, it has NO citations at all, it a nobody making an unsubstantiated claim. There are multiple claims and mentions to a figure in the order of $50-80M per year for WEC, $100-120M for Porsche due to start up costs.

Its not even a 'quote', its a completely made up figure.

Show me an article from 2014 at least from Audi.

You show me one that says its $242M.. I at least gave you some evidence, not just a figure a blogger pulled out of thin air. So unless the budget has increased about 400-500% its reasonably accurate. Toyota 2012.. $50M..

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/ ... -mans-race

The highest claim ive seen for Audi is $120M, and that still only on par with Manor 2014. This year its claimed Manors budget is $90M.

You show me a valid claim for the $242M.. its works both ways. Ive edited my previous posts with at least SOME evidence of WEC spending.
