Only? A drive through is the worse penalty.enckboaz wrote:can someone explayn to me why for the same crash maldonado was given 5 sec penalty and hamilton only the drive through?
yes your right, but still different penalities for the same type of crash. Am i wrong?ChrisM40 wrote:Only? A drive through is the worse penalty.enckboaz wrote:can someone explayn to me why for the same crash maldonado was given 5 sec penalty and hamilton only the drive through?
Phil wrote:This. I cant see any blame for Ric in the incident with Rosberg. It might have looked out of control due to the tire smoke, but he did make the corner and was on the power. It was Rosberg, who, in full control of his car, cut across Ric in that moment, causing damage to his own car and the one on Rics. I called it as a race incident, because of this. If i were to put blame on to someone, i might lean on Rosberg. The fact that both got damaged, it equals out somewhat.Sevach wrote:I don't think Ricciardo deserves a penalty, just bad luck there.
I'm unsure wether Hamilton vs Ricciardo was just a mistake or bully tactics... either way he got punished for it.
On hamilton with Ric... Well unfortunate. I would have guessed it would be called a race incident because it happened at the restart, which IMO is a crucial point. Cars were still cold and at that point entirely unpredictable to a point. Hamilton locked up due to this, which put him on a trajectory that would have seen him make the corner, but not with Ric being there. Ric is blameless, although he was on the outside, which is always a risky move, especially in somewhat unpredictable circumstances. He put himself there, and could continue without issues. Hamilton had to pit, so on this basis, i would have called it a race incident. He had to go through the pits twice (nose, then penalty) and make it back to 6th. If someone was too blame, i'd lean on Hamilton, although to be fair, by the time he was on the inside, he was a passenger to the state of the tires and the trajectory.
As for the race... Well what could have been. I thonk Hamilton was easily the quickest car outthere, though his race was seriously compromised by his eagerness to attack Rosberg, had to avoid and left the track and lose massively. Amazing how he could get back from that!
Rosberg... Well, seemed to me he was sleeping the entire race. Didnt have a chance at all vs both Ferraris until the very end on medium tires after the safety car.
Ricciardo = wow. I was rooting for him for the win, potty it didnt work out. Also kimi too, what a shame. He has a good race, then sees it evaporate due to a car fault...
Both got drive throughs if I remember it right.enckboaz wrote:can someone explain to me why for the same crash maldonado was given 5 sec penalty and hamilton only the drive through?
12:41 Maldonado gets a drive through penalty for running into Perez.
At Hungaroring, that would be one of the stupidest things known to man, let everyone overtake you at Spa for all it's worth, much easier recovery.SectorOne wrote:I wonder what´s up with Mercedes starts, they both had terrible starts.
Did they get so bullish that they decided to try the new starting regs one race prior to Belgium for experience?

You really are a master of using situations to suit your argument. Remember Spa? Replace Lewis with Nico and Nico with Ric.iotar__ wrote:Heroes of today:

Same here. Maybe the director made a mistake and it shouldn't have been displayed like that ? Maybe it was meant for another driver and the race director pressed the wrong button in the heat of the moment.Tauri_J wrote:I'm confused...didnt Verstappen get a drive through?
It certainly is. He probably set a record for # of penalties in a single race weekend.enckboaz wrote:tnx!evered7 wrote:Both got drive throughs if I remember it right.enckboaz wrote:can someone explain to me why for the same crash maldonado was given 5 sec penalty and hamilton only the drive through?
