i suspect the same , if this is the case then it bodes well for future but if they are seriously thinking of challenging mercedes next year then they need a flurry of these kinda laps in near future. i hope mystery around that lap can be revealed soon.tranquility2k4 wrote:On that particular lap maybe they decided to try the real potential of the PU for one lap.
i guess they want to test PU over race distance , even running at this level would not have landed them anywhere considering penalties that were well decided at that time. new ICE its better to accumulate mileage and turn on for one lap in full mode to see , data spikes across all components and verify their terminal boundaries.NathanOlder wrote:If this was the case then surely they could perform a little better in qualifying over 1 lap ?
Perhaps he got a slip stream in all the straight line sections?tranquility2k4 wrote:It was the 5th fastest time. Quite a good lap actually, the very thing is though how he did a 53.6 then next lap and for the rest of that stint was in 56's nd 57's, i.e. 3 - 4 seconds slower... something really strange going on. It does suggest there is a lot more potential there.
Can't be just the engine. Through turn 18 Rosberg srubs off 1-2 kph, which he immediately gets back. Alonso scrubs off 10 kph! And they both seem to have the same breaking point, despite Rosberg being 30 kph faster at that point.

Yes, few bug fixes and they'll be p1 before you know it.
That lap was really weird. It was the 1st full lap after last pitstop and he made (S1/Speed S2/Speed S3/Speed Full LAP)tranquility2k4 wrote:It was the 5th fastest time. The colour of the bodywork makes a negligible difference on internal components' temperature. Otherwise every car on the grid would be painted white, or some reflective paint.Mestremuten wrote:Just a glimpse, I don't know if it has been commented previously, but If there is a temperature problem, why the holy --- this card is painted in BLACK????
