Pedals adjustable base question help !

hello guys,
i hope you all having a good day

well i don't know if this is the right section for this question anyway what i am trying to do is adjustable base pedals for my simulator cockpit depending on the length of the driver's legs, i will be controlling the movement electrically with a stepper or some sort of electric motor 12V so i need please help with how to make that base. I thought about gears but i need something more simple so any idea which can help ?
so far i couldn't find a way :S

ah ok but i can't tell how this is adjustable ? what i am trying to do is something similar (as a base) to the picture below but i want to control it by a stepper or motor 12V and make it move forward and back so i need help to do such a system please

you push a switch, it moves. I am 99.9% certain an electric motor is involved. Well you've got a picture of what you want, where's the problem? Grab the motor/gearbox/worm/nut assembly out of an electric seat and you are good to go.

this doesnt help but i was searching i found a way that can help which is "Motorized Dolly for camera"

You posted a picture of what you want. Add the motor and worm assy from a car's seat and it'll move forwards and backwards.

Or just find a sporty looking seat with electric fore/aft at a wreckers and sit on that.

It seems overly complicated to have electronically adjustable pedals for a sim setup, why not just the pedal box base on some rails and slide it manually and lock it into place?

i thought about that before but no, because i am making F1 cockpit so i need something easy
well what i managed to think about is :
i will be using this Stepper http://www.ekt2.com/products/productdet ... 7f10e61358

i will put a rubber around a metal disk and put it on the shaft of the stepper and after i will put a metallic base on which sits the pedals and below there is rails on which this base is connected and can slid and i will put the stepper under it so after the stepper turn there is friction between the rubber and the base and it moves forward or back

Do you mean you're make a full monocoque? If so you can just attach a cable to the base or just make a cut in the top of the monocoque so you can get access to the pedal box. This is how it we would do it on an F-SAE car, unless you want to make easy presets for different people then I don't see the gain in complicating it this much.

i am making a cool and easy way of adjusting the pedals
so far the method that i posted in the reply before this would be the one for now
