My feeling is that Maldonado will be gone. We will see more on the 9th as there is a Lotus Administration hearing at the High Court in London as Joe Saward reported today in his blog.
I have a feeling that Lotus will be taken over in the administration process as Renault will take over the team then by paying off all the smaller creditors to get the CVA through. The same way Manor came through at the start of the year. I do know enough on this matter as my Football team was liquidated and know enough on business law.
Lotus will not be wound up, they will be administered for a 30 day period and in that period Renault will take over after the CVA is approved as no matter if you have a debt of £10 or £10m, each creditor has a single vote as per UK business law. As for the Renault integration, it can be done up to 4 months before the start of the season, or testing. And Renault may even miss the start of testing, yes it may have a difficult start of the year, but that might just give them time. And its not that bad as the team had Renault last year and still have the design data on the engine. With less staff around it may be difficult as the Administrators will lay off some staff first, but its still comparatively easy.
And if there is a Red Bull and Mercedes or Ferrari deal, things will be easier. And if all parties are willing, and able to commit, its going to happen.
