Thank you, guys. I really thought that top speed would have played a more important role, so I was kinda scared...

Interesting and very competitive championship! My predictions for the final race are: Mantium/CAEdevice both first with the exact same time, Variante second and JJR following with a gap of one thousandth of a second.

I would need a car between me and Mantium to reach the podium, so I hope there will not be a "surplace" ("track stand" as in cycling) between Variante and JJR :D

I do like the look of the JJR car... Looks very menacing....

Interesting that all three have "shortened diffuser strakes" that we were discussing over on mine/Ric's thread....

The last three pictures are very interesting, especially with the work we have been doing in the other thread.
As you say Machin, the fact all three have short strakes is interesting in itself.
Looking at each car, its interesting how each performs at the diffuser. Variante's car has a lot more blue before the diffuser and in a greater area too.
What I am taking from it is what we learnt with my car, moving the leading edge of the floor back has a positive effect in the diffuser. Each car has a different position to the leading edge and as it moves towards the rear the performance increases.

I am not sure how representative my diffuser is as I have this separation I showed a few posts earlier.

Variante's and JJR's cars create some additional downforce in the area behind the rear wheels.
They probably tested if it meets the efficiency requirements. Maybe we will see something like that on the next MantiumRAY car and some others as well.

Great discussions. Sorry for having dropped the ball a little - I did manage to run the CFD more or less within the deadline this time around... On the discussion of discrepancy between own and official results, I have made some progress towards being able to compile openFoam for Windows. So I will be looking at providing an openFoam distribution of the same version as the official one. Do expect some (hopefully minor) differences due to windows vs linux...

Well done to all teams.

Thank you Julien! In my opinion the KVRC technical level has been growing race after race, I have great expectation for 2016 (also Chris is doing a perfect job). We are collecting some ideas in the 2016 thread: I'm going to write something about my experience with OCCFD: this year my car has been completely developed with the official framework.

What must be good to see for Julien is the thread started this evening by Tozza Mazza where he has said he is using OCCFD for his own project

Well, the last race is coming: remember that a (small) prize is waiting for the winner!
Depending on the winner preferences, the official prize (perpetual licence for RFactor2) could be converted, for who does not like virtual racing or is not planning to buy a steering wheel, into an Amazon Gift Card or the equivalent value in Bitcoin. Just let the sponsor (CAEdevice, myself) know your preferences :)

Cool, that's good CAEDevice! I think it is going to be really good close fight... looks like JJR needs to work on his design a bit to try and out-develop Variante.... Amazing that we've come down to the final race with the top two on equal points... Can't wait to see what cars people roll out...

Does anyone think they've found a big improvement with their car?

I have doubts about the legality of the rear wing. Considering that it is possible to submit only one time, I post a public image and I ask your opinion about this solution:
