Gentlemen - perhaps mid-1960s racing technology is rather old hat as far as this forum is concerned but I thought some of you may be interested in my ongoing project to recreate Jaguar's original 1966 XJ13 Le Mans Prototype.
Having acquired the only surviving complete prototype engine in private hands, I set about trying to recreate the car exactly as it left Jaguar's Competition Department in the summer of 1966 - as originally envisaged by Malcolm Sayer and Jaguar's engineers and rather different to today's one-and-only original after it was heavily crashed and rebuilt in 1972/73. I wanted to show the car in the form it took when Jaguar's hopes of a return to Le Mans were still alive and well.
The dream is to see the car on track lined up against the cars Jaguar had in its sights - The mighty GT40 and sublimely beautiful Ferrari P4 amongst others.
The story of the project may be found here http://www.XJ13.eu
