Probably written elsewhere as well, but I happened to come across that same thought here:bauc wrote:Source?GoranF1 wrote:Alonso;

I watched on TV when he said this. 0,1 per lap faster, it doesnt sound very promising.bauc wrote:Source?GoranF1 wrote:Alonso;

Well Arai said that they are expecting even more once they have proper mapping of the engine, so maybe 0.2,0.3 in next few races but overall I guess that is what they could do without any proper layout change which can only be done in the winter. Overall Great race by both drivers, its good to see them in the fight.Vasconia wrote:I watched on TV when he said this. 0,1 per lap faster, it doesnt sound very promising.bauc wrote:Source?GoranF1 wrote:Alonso;

Anyway good race for McLaren, too bad that Alonso had that problem but he was without tyres so his position was not real.
Arai said this about the issue: “However, we think he temporarily lost power due to a possible injector issue – which was rectified before the end of the race. We’ll need to investigate further to confirm the situation. Needless to say, we are very disappointed that he lost precious points positions because of this issue.Thunders wrote: I said it a few Times already, but here it is once more:
RB are running this concept for multiple Years already, they just didn't give it a fancy Name.
Also: Great Drive from both JB and FA yesterday. Well deserved Points for Jenson, he is just mighty good in these Conditions. Anybody know what the Problem on Fernando's Engine was? He tweeted they wanted to retire the Car but due to them being in the Points they kept going...

i am more worried about the improvement spec4 will bring after engine mappings go bit more aggressive in final three races. if improvement is somewhere in range of 0.3-0.4 seconds then it can be called as a significant step else another hype created by mclaren-honda in year 2015.Thunders wrote:@max_speed: Thanks. Looks like a minor fault then. Nothing to worry too much.

they said it performed better than expected and exceeded expectations so i am bit more optimistic.diffuser wrote: I doubt they can triple the power with Engine mapping, we're talking 5-10% more pop.
Also .1 per lap was COTA specific. That will vary from race to race.
before that last SC, Alonso was significantly faster that Button although on quite older tyre.ollandos wrote:alonso lap times all over the race it's faster than button ...exept last 10....i reed on twitter somewhere about sensor problem with engine at the end
think last SC damage the result for mclaren ....
