So when the Austin GP arrived the Americans brought a quirky little twist to the winners' caps by way of the Stetson. It was fun and kind of cool and after all they're the Americans so we went along with it.
Then the Russians came along and of course anything the Americans can do the Russians can do better, so they introduced the fur caps; a little strange in late Summer but we went along with it as a cultural twist.
(I'd like to thank Lewis Hamilton for handily pointing to the hats in question)
We've now reached Mexico and of course the cap has been replaced with the (rather large) winners' sombrero.
So the question is: Are these cultural novelty hats a good thing or a bad thing? Does it add colour having different hats for different countries' races? (a future Pirelli bowler hat for England perhaps?) or is it becoming a little over the top and races go back to the standard cap, with perhaps only the inaugural race having a custom one?
