It would appear, as you summised, that most of the work appears to have been concentrated on the diffuser as there are significant differences between the two.

The 'shrink wrapped bodywork, smaller radiator intakes and smaller cooling chimneys would have been made possible by the move to a rev linit of 19k and Mercedes low heat rejection figures.

Narrow end-plated fins used from Australia
Fins discarded from Spain
Higher wider fins fitted from Indy
Lower versions added for Monza

There are 3 versions till now. The later you are reffering to ( 2nd version ) has not got 2 different shapes. The problem is that the image was not clear enough so i posted the picture above .
