Post here all non technical related topics about Formula One. This includes race results, discussions, testing analysis etc. TV coverage and other personal questions should be in Off topic chat.
Personally I prefers to post a link to the image, that usually avoids to enlarge the posts making the reading a bit annoying.
BTW, what was JPM thinking ? If the engine doesn’t start you have to stay in the car, let the others go and then eventually try to start or move it in the pit, it’s just that simple. To jump out of the car while everyone is ready to go is just too blatantly stupid to be even considered as an option.
Who was giving him that advice ? Whoever he was he also changed mind a couple of times...
Anyway the craziest thing is that the stewards required 1 hour and half to DQ him...
Actually it is allowed to get out of the car in the start, you just have get out is it 15 seconds before the start of the warm-up lap. JPM was just few seconds late. This explains his rush. Had he got out just a little earlier he wouldn't have been disqualified :
I was convinced that the time limit to get out of the car was 1 minute before the start of the warm up lap and not 15 seconds so my mistake in first place, still I believe it’s crazy to jump out of the car and walk over the grid just seconds before others are starting. And even more crazy to let a driver race for 1 half and hour when he should be DQ from the start.
Rogue : I’m sorry for the involuntary sexual allusion, as it’s evident from all my po... uhm... messages English isn’t my first language so I had to look in the dictionary to understand that “post” has several totally different meanings. I apologize in advance if something similar happens again in the future, feel free to correct me.
besides the starting mechanism on his car just broke its no way the mechanics could started the car, his only other option is the spare...he is a racer i dont think he is gonna take that laying down
I dont think taking so long to DQ Montoya was the biggest mistake they made. Schumi overtook Barrichello on the lap that the safety car was still on (5) whereas he would have been allowed to overtake on lap (6). The tv clock showed that schumi was in the lead when lap 6 started. The judges decided he wasn't, and that the clock was wrong, Barrichello was leading with 0,013 seconds according to them. At the speed of 350 km/h that is 1,2 meters. Everyone saw that that was not the case. A bit of "pushing the rules" for schumi? Perhaps, but i'm starting to get sick of the way everybody kisses schumi's ass. The rules should be the same for everyone, and the should be no room for interpretation, especially since all the slower teams usually and up worse in the same kind of situations.
