I didn't think Aston were flush with cash at the moment so I don't expect them to take over the team.

Its Clear Aston Martin ‘unlikely' to return to Formula 1

I dare say Alfa Romeo will return to F1 before Aston Martin it seems sadly.
Friendship with Honda ended, Renault is my new (and more reliable) friend.

More like STR driving around next season with rebadged Alfa Romeo engines?

Why would Aston snub what is essentially a free deal to have their names on a decent midfield team? I was under the impression they barely had to pay anything as the name alone was deemed "worth it"?

At least now change the thread name to '2016 Force India Racing'.
Deal is highly unlikely to happen -

It doesn't seem like it will happen but they didn't say no. They said they are inclined to say no. Atleast that was the first info.

I guess more info now is that the reason they want more time to think about it is simply because they are looking at more then just Formula 1 to see what their best options are as far as Motor Racing because the Aston Martin Racing program will be what ever they feel is best in terms of road car related sales.

So who knows if they end up I'm the Endurance racing competing with AUDI. Or they decide that what they do currently is enough but they do want to have a presence in Motor Racing.

As a Force India fan I hope they chose F1. But I mean who knows.

I was under the impression that Aston Martin was lending it's name and perhaps helping with technical development. So why would they not want this deal'? All Force India wants is the name so they can get more funding from better sponsors....

Force India is a great team if they had more funding they would do so much better.

If Aston Martin cannot afford to title sponsor a mid field F1 team, then they absolutely cannot afford a proper LMP1 program. The last time they half arsed an LMP1 project it was a complete shambles.

Which is why I don't understand why they don't take this title deal.

They can't afford anything gooD with out a huge investment which they don't want to do. Yet they say they want to be in Motor sports.....

This is practically free.

This is practically free.

Vijay Mallya does not own the shares in the team anymore; his major share is now owned by Diageo, may be he still has some.

He still represents the team and the other share holders, Sahara and Mol.

Not sure how they can get him out. At the moment the team is self sustaining.

Not sure how the team name can change now.
