Wow...
http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/renau ... 66144/?s=1

That's quite a U-turn from Renault.
... not for the purpose of the show, sound, high costs ...

Déjà-vu of the RBR-comments.

New interview with Helmut Marco:
http://www.motorsport-magazin.com/forme ... br-setzen/

He starts with saying that Enstone basically has no chance of winning in the near future, especially with the driver line-up they have. He say's Renault would be better of focusing on helping Red Bull win. This comment is probably about self interest, but in the short turn he's probably right. Long term however ..

He then goes on to talk a bit about Toro Rosso. He says if Red Bull start with a similar level of power as they ended with in 2015, they'll be 5-6 tenths per lap down on the Ferrari PU Toro Rosso will use. So he expects, and interestingly accepts Toro Rosso to be either ahead of on par with Red Bull at the beginning of the season. In that case, Red Bull would just have to work harder.

I like it. McLaren abandoned their chrome livery, so why not on the front of the Red Bull? It makes the car look 1. more like the product, and 2. more interesting.

i like it, would enjoy it being white at the front like the white they used for the space jump stuff.

would be a decent moment to change their livery somewhat, essentially starting a new era?

Good point - it would certainly be logical to make the car look more like a can of red bull, given that's the real point of the entire venture.

So Siemens is acquiring CD-adapco:

http://www.f1technical.net/news/20227
CD-adapco is a long term partner and supplier of the Enstone based teams in F1, including Renault Sport F1 during its Championship winning years in 2005 and 2006, as well as Lotus F1 Team. Siemens PLM software on the other hand is currently being used by Red Bull Racing.
Checking the Red Bull Racing website, they have 3 main partners with relevance to computing and technical analysis:
- Siemens (Apparently partners since the teams first race)
- Ansys (CFD/Mechanical simulation)
- IBM (Computing power)

I wonder if this take-over by Siemens could offer new possibilities for RBR. They could implement Adapco's software in addition to or instead of the Ansys software, possibly for free since it's Siemens. The software is then obviously run on RB's IBM hardware, to the amount of Teraflops stipulated by F1 regulations. Siemens however might want to work on future versions of their software, and do some "F1 trails" of their own. Not being bound by any F1 regulations, Siemens could do unlimited work for Red Bull.

Red Bull probably aren't paying for Ansys either, since Ansys use them in their marketing.

Final livery? From a video with Ricciardo posted on the RBR facebook page. Very similar to the Pirelli-test livery..

I don't think so. It could also be the RB7 they used during the Kitzbühel-Showrun. It was stated that it's only an interim livery.

They're purposefully not showing anything, we will only be teased until the cars turn up for track at the last week of testing. Watch what kind of pace they have on long runs, the benchmark is going to be consistent 1:28-29 second laps on hard tires and 50-60kg of fuel.

Totally agree. Boring!
Huge marketing budget & they can't come up with something fresh & exciting. #-o I'm hoping that's not the final livery.
