You don't do over forty laps with Alonso on your tail if you're a dogshit driver... Maldonado just hadn't got him self together but the speed and talent is there. Grosjean is a bit of a special driver so Maldo will never match him, but he did very Well against Bottas and Barichello.
I'm pretty sure Bottas beat him as a rookie in a dogsh!t car.
Whilst Barrichello was reaching the end of his downward spiral in speed terms.

If you check out the Lotus F1 Twitter Page: https://twitter.com/Lotus_F1Team ... it looks as though they are going to be Black, Gold and Red.

Well, it seems confirmed now that Maldonado will not drive for Renault - by the man himself.

But - Danish national broadcaster, DR, reports that the manager of Magnussen, Dorte Riis Madsen, can NOT confirm that a contract has been signed between Renault and Magnussen. So I guess we have to keep options open untill wednesday. Could there be a third driver involved?

No, MAG is probably adhering to the announcement rules and MAL did not. Wed press event, so they will wait.

I wish Maldonado every success but I won't miss him from F1. I thought KMag had a bit of a rough deal and think he most certainly deserves a good go in the sport.

But no gratitude to Williams or Lotus and his engineers and the other people he worked with. A team player until the end.

Really glad for KMag. He deserves a good seat in F1. Now hope that Renault will deliver a good car for him and Jolyon in 2016.

Pretty happy with the line-up.

I did actually enjoy Maldonado in his first season and i liked his GP win. Unfortunately there's something there that messes with him [ up in the cranium ] that destroys all his goods and leave the bads.

I do honestly believe he is a genuinly cool bloke, and to be honest, i think he's a big man for staying relatively calm despite being the only driver ever to have a 'hasXXXXcrashedtoday' website dedicated to him.

I think he has a career left in Nascar and Champ/Indy a couple of years before retiring from motorsport and focusing on a political career, which im honest to say believe he has a really really good shot at. I actually think he wouldnt do bad there, as long as his mangement skills arent similar to his driving skills.

i'm glad for him to get a drive but 'deserve' ? what the hell did he ever do to 'deserve' a good seat ?
If he deserved a 'good seat' - it remains to be seen whether Renault actually is a 'good seat', then imagine
what 'good seat' Perez deserved after he had to make way for K-Mag.

Yes, he deserves a good seat because he is one of those guys who is a good racer but needs a good car to make it or break it.

I can give you examples of guys who don't deserve a good seat to see where I'm going with my idea: Stevens or Merhi.
