2016 Sauber F1 Team - Ferrari

The problem with Sauber still seems to be the money problem [cashflow] and i think they really need to up their game and fix their results, running of operations, and their lack of sponsorship this year and fast, as i'm kind of suspecting that this will be the last year for Nasr being @ Sauber as i can see him move to another team in 2017. Williams or Force India would be my first thought. Perhaps Renault. And Marcus Ericsson brings some dough to the table but no talent, and i'm fairly convinced this is going to be his last year in F1.
On the other hand, Pastor Maldonado focusing on a 2017 F1 return could really see him @ Sauber in 2017. With PDVSA and perhaps another sponsor.

I believe this is exactly what is going to happen. Things could change only if Nasr doesn't beat Ericsson by a good margin this year, what I think is unlikely, since he showed a strong performance as a rookie and might improve now.

I think Maldonado is gone for good since I don't expect his government funding to ever come back. Anyone with a nice check can buy a Sauber drive. I don't expect much from the team this year. They'll be duking it out with Manor and probably Haas. If the Renault PU has improved, I don't expect Sauber to beat them early.

They're replacing Certina which was a long-time sponsor of the team. I remember them from BMW-Sauber era.

Conflicting stories out there

Some reports say all 300 paid part of their salary

Another says 2/3 of staff not paid.

Wonder what is the real story.

Would seem very logical to me.

Sauber has paid the remainder of the February salaries of its Formula 1 staff and is in no doubt it will compete in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.

Cashflow problems meant the Swiss team was unable to fulfil last month's wage bill in full.

But on Wednesday, the team confirmed to Autosport a solution had been found to ensure every employee had received their salary.
