Will this have a negative effect on the Air Intake above the drivers head?
Because this window canopy will push the air above and over it...?

Regarding the visibility, let's not forget that this was banned on grounds of visibility:

It was probably just an excuse to avoid the proliferation of similar devices around the cockpit

Not sure, as the rule(s) allowing such devices weren't changed to ban these, as in 2006, BMW Sauber tried a similar thing with the twin towers.

With all the money in F1 I'm surprised the helmets don't have HUD's and cameras on the car to give drivers unobstructed view, kind of like the F-35.

The F35 is a scandal and a complete failure, why copy such failure in F1.
The F35 helmet and seat design breaks the pilots neck for a start.

But that's reducing visibility for a performance advantage. This concept is reducing visibility but with a massive safety advantage.

But then wouldn't it need wipers during rain? I guess this "polycarbonate shield" surface need to be a little bit flatter to allow the wipers to work (like on LMP1).

Why not designing something like the F-16 Canopy with an open top. Those bubble canopies were designed to withstand a bird-strike at high speed as they can provide a clear 360-vision to the driver.

1) Strength of the bubble comes from being complete, when you make a big cut out on the to the strength is lost and needs to be redesigned. It is like a coupe and convertible

2) bubble top is quiet heavy

3) the one tested in the tyre strike by FIA deflected too much that the bubble would have hit the helmet. To have made it workable it would have to be higher, bigger to provide for enough clearance for the helmet

The best would have been a complete canopy as seen in NHRA top fuel dragster, but concerned people are concerned about the look of the car and the entire thing has gotten political. Hence the half as**d hallo idea.
