2016 McLaren F1 Team - Honda

I am expecting a tighter rear with Black, Red and White livery. Also is there a possibility of launching car with 2 different livery for Alonso and Button? Dont recall if it is banned now.

Very unlikely nowadays that any team, let alone McLaren, would run two different liveries. The way sponsor deals along with television exposure is nowadays it's too risky and costly for not a lot of profit.

I don't think it's allowed at all, at least FIA didn't allow it back when BAR tried this.

If i understood correctly BAR was at first granted to run 2 different liveries, when they pleed on court against the original decision that they cant. Then there was a strange confusion in which lawyers separatly filed another complaint against FIA. In the end 2 liveries were banned so they could run the team, because FIA was pissed off on the team owner. He had to apologise and cancel both trials, and then FIA allowed them to participate.

I am a bit disappointed with Honda. If they had to retain the same livery then why did they tweet asking people to guess what the new livery would look like. I think it was a bit cheeky.

The car overall looks good and more aggressive than last year. The rear looks tighter and there appears to be more rake than last year. The size of sidepods appear to be same as last year and this could be down to Honda's cooling challenges. Last year both Mercedes and Ferrari had an extremely reliable engine which allowed them to shrink their cooling requirements and as a result cut down the size of sidepods. On the other hand, Honda had the most unreliable engine so possibly McLaren Honda are starting with additional cooling to be on the safer side.

If in the first two tests and initial few races they see reliability, there is a possibility that by European races we will see more aggressive sidepods.

Are these photo-shopped images? In the pic below how is it possible that we get to see both the front and rear tyres on the other side. If the angle of photo capture is such that the front tyre on other side is visible from this side, then the rear tyre on the other side should not be visible because it will hide behind rear tyre on this side from which the image was captured.

It's just because of the lens used to take a wide angle shot. Have a look at other similar photos and you'll see the same thing. Nothing more than that...

Agreed. My second point is, why would McLaren reveal livery with car number 14 mentioned on it. In the past we have never seen McLaren launch a car with a driver/ car number mentioned on it.
