McLaren MP4-31 Honda

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

They also appeared to have ditched the fluorescent sticker on the rear crash structure, below the tail light

Works best when you download the app on a mobile platform!

The car looks fine and very much detailed. But it annoys me the continuous problems with sensors and stuff like that. I am not very hopeful because the PU looks quite fragile, once again.

Can you link the testing thread? I can't find it...
Really? Its a sticky on general chat.

Inside the other post? Yeah fair play, I didn't really see that or think to look in there, I was just looking for a testing thread and couldn't seem to find it. Thank you anyway.

I don't know why we don't just sticky the thread itself, rather than sticky a thread linking to other threads.

EDIT: Actually, it's not even in here http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... =1&t=23689" target="_blank" target="_blank

... why is the testing thread so hard to find? Maybe that's why people keep posting here
It's in the general topics forum...

Suggestion to mods: maybe a separate testing forum?
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

12:28 Initial impressions of the new Ferrari from trackside are quite positive. Vettel was on the medium tyre and not exactly going all out, but the car looked fast, stable and transitioned well from turn 2 to the entry of turn 3 with Vettel able to take a nice tight line. The McLaren looks similar but a bit more on the edge through.

I removed the post about lap times and lap counts. Has no place in this topic. Such posts go to here: http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... =1&t=23795

For the record: when a car breaks down, discussion about that is allowed, but only about the hardware/software that broke down, not that it "only made x amount of laps". Neither how the car "looks" or "behaves" belong here. All of that should go right into the test topic!

Also to paraphrase the great thunders who struck down like lightning:

Thunders wrote:This is NOT the Thread to discuss Laptimes and Lap Counts.

Keep this one to the Car please.

Oh and could we not do the whole doom and gloom stuff after 2hrs of Testing please.

So any data on the top speed ?

Last year they were about 10 kph behind; think they need to hit 335 kph to see of they bridged the gap to the front.
