Yes, much better with the tyre choice :D
I know, I know...but how great would be if you add the size of the stint when that fastest lap was obtained...

Am I the only one that is surprised we didn't see any Force India style noses tried?

I've never understood why people don't do the holes *as well* as having a short nose. Seems like it would increase air flow .

Then again:
A) maybe it's hard to crash test with both of those things
B) I didn't really understand the loophole that allowed FI to use holes (thought they were previously banned post 2008)
C) what do I know about anything

This is grim news for the competition. The mercs on almost 500 laps, just mediums and 1.1 second faster then Raikkonen on the same compound.
Vettel did a 1m24.939s on mediums day 1. That's only one tenth off Nico and faster than Lewis on the same tyre.

Not that I read anything into that. It all means nothing.

With all the usual caveats that go with testing etc, If there's one thing Nico Hulkenberg's time tells us it's that Fernando's comments about Mercedes dominance probably aren't that far off the mark.

Well, it's a bit early, but we love the pre-season for many reasons...and one is try to find the order based in those infos we collect here and there.

Not a closed picture (just day 3/8) because we need more info about size of stints and etc, what we got until now:

Image

It's obvious that from we know about some 'habits' of some teams, we expect Ferrari and Williams to be at least 0,5s more fast. Giving us good fighta: Mercs x Ferrari; Williams x Force India; Red Bull x Toro Rosso and Sauber x Haas x McHonda x Manor x Renault.

As I said it's early.

Of course it is only testing etc.. we know, but the fact that Mercedes is pounding in these laps.. haha that just must be shattering the moral (is that correctly written?) of most others.

edit: and I am not even supporting Mercedes..

The fact that driver stamina became an issue on day 3 has to be worrying to the other teams.

You can't really complain about the dominance of Mercedes.
They have made one of the greatest cars of all time.

The team has not just been winning, but breaking records.

Yet, no one even mentions this.

It's been mentioned at least 10000 times at the time they were breaking them.

Lets try to keep this on the topic of testing and not turn it into a favorite team shouting match

Which could men 0,7-8 faster tan Sebastian? I hope not!!

Bad day for McLaren, all the afternoon lost because of a failure which should be solved in a shorter amount of time. I think it was something more serious. I hope Alonso can run today normally.
