You could send Julien a PM? Or if you think that someone on here could answer (or maybe the answer would help someone else) then maybe here is the best place...?

What type of downforce figures did the podium cars put out for the first race last year?

Thanks,

Here they are:

Red name means last race from that team. Red time means time with a penalty.

Wow, your car was a monster. Nice one!

Any images of that spec?

You can find them here: http://www.khamsinvirtualracecarchallen ... -1-results
Or here: http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... 1&start=60" target="_blank" target="_blank

You really need a ton of downforce for the first rounds, especially for Monaco (the Nurburgring requires some attention to efficiency, despite being high downforce as well).

My minimum target for this year is to go above 10000N (well balanced, hopefully).

Good start ;)
Have a look at Machin's thread too (he's also written a good guide on how to design a car), and to the CFD images on the official KVRC website.

Expect your current car to perform better on high efficiency tracks, BTW.

When could we expect the packages to be ready for sketchup? Really looking forward to this after not participating for a few years.

What happened to the proposal of double points for the last race? I rember that someone did not agree, but befor the season begins, I would like to list some positive effects:

- Small teams and new entries who have less developing resources have a less steep developing curve

- Without strategies and driving errors, the car who wins the last race is probably the better

- More possibilities to not have a champion before the le last race (this year maybe we would need triple points ;) but it would be too much)

Another suggestion (I already wrote about it months ago): post race pictures of the winner (and podium) car should be uniform for each race. I would avoid sections and pressure maps (excpet for the first pre season race ( but it would be ok for any kind of rendered detail or orientation).

The guide parts at http://www.khamsinvirtualracecarchallenge.com/ have been updated - these should be the final versions. The subclass parts now include engine exhausts, and there was a modification to the bodywork volume to accommodate movement of the front suspension templates as per K2.1. There were no changes to the parts for full entries, other than the addition of a SKP file. The final rulebook is pretty much ready to go, just waiting on Julien for confirmation on how we will be handling K4.1 option 2 in CFD.

Thank you Chris. If possible, the engine data (max power) could be included into the rulebook?

Yes, there's an appendix with some figures. The engine power is 540hp, with a 144hp KERS motor.
