This would be something new, because this almost never happens, at least for Ferrari.f1316 wrote: but there is the chance that Ferrari throw an upgrade package on in Australia that just works out of the box and brings them even closer.

Fair point - I certainly understand the scepticism.dans79 wrote:This would be something new, because this almost never happens, at least for Ferrari.f1316 wrote: but there is the chance that Ferrari throw an upgrade package on in Australia that just works out of the box and brings them even closer.

It would be a nice change compared to what we saw during Alonso's tenure.f1316 wrote: But the general development over the course of last year was actually pretty good and this is a different set of engineers/designers than a few years ago. I'm willing to bet that Ferrari's equipment (e.g. Wind tunnel) is as good as anyone - it just depends who's using it.
True. Aren't they also using Haas' Wind tunnel that was special for some reason and possibly gave them some advantage on their aero?dans79 wrote:It would be a nice change compared to what we saw during Alonso's tenure.f1316 wrote: But the general development over the course of last year was actually pretty good and this is a different set of engineers/designers than a few years ago. No you have that backwards. Haas use Ferrari's wind tunnel and there is speculation that Ferrari have been able to use some of Haas wind tunnel time and results to their own advantageflickerf1 wrote:True.
