McLaren MP4-31 Honda

It was originaly reported 8 laps....and Jenson 1.25.200 (soft) a 10 laps stint, but now Benson is saying it was 4 laps for Alonso?

4 laps yes....he says that lap fuel corrected is 24.6

It was 5 laps with measured time + in lap + out lap, maybe that is why some people counted it as 7-8 laps stint.

I don't think you can read too much into a stat topped by a Sauber with a fair margin.

And rosberg second to last place over the finish line. Pretty much sums up all the speed trap numbers we've seen over the days of testing. Irrelevant.

However, if something goes wrong in-season and they start blowing engines this is gonna cost them. On the other hand, I was expecting them to push the car hard at least in last day of testing, with a good amount of laps under their belt so not to get hurt a lot by a possible engine blow. Maybe they are heavily sandbagging ? Something tells me though that by the end of the season they can be the 3rd best team.
3rd best would be simply impossible. :D
Especially not this year since Williams, Force India, Torro Rosso and possibly Red Bull all look very strong.

And I don't think they are sandbagging, it didn't look like they were fast with any tyres and any amount of fuel. They just chose not to run high power low fuel on US tyres for whatever reason. That's a shame, they could have snatched at least third and made the headlines on the last Barca testing day.

All this talk of the engine being detuned sounds a lot like last year and look what happened, I think you've got to take things at face value and not depend on the future, wells see where they are in melbourne

I don't think anyone thought it was detuned last year, it was in lot of pieces for the first two tests.

I see this often, but I´m afraid it´s wrong.

"Barca" is the short name we use for FC Barcelona (football/soccer team), wich actually is Barça, not Barca, or if you don´t have that letter in your keyboard the pronunciation is a lot closer to Barsa.

But the city of Barcelona cannot be called Barça/Barca/Barsa, this short name only apply to the football team. If you want to use a short name or acronym for Barcelona, it´s Bcn

Sorry for the OT, but this is not the first time I read it (so it is more or less common) and I thought it was worth clarifing :)

There wasn't any talk about the engine being detuned, but there was talk about "unlocking the potential during the season", "fiddling with some minor issues" and that sort of stuff which clearly weren't the case back then.
Basically, what I say is that we really shouldn't buy too much into this "there's still plenty of potential to unlock" talk untill we actually see said potential unlocked.

In context, I propose that this is working with the monkey seat, spreading the exhaust plume over a wider operating surface.
Is it possible they might be blowing part of the exhaust gases to the rear wing through the central pylon?

As Barcelonés, I also authorise people to use "Barna", witch is what we use.

Barca is the name of a Carthaginian notable family and also means "boat" both in spanish and catalan, so I agree, you need to be some kind of Hannibal or be gone fishing to use it.
