Why? In all probability that car is going to drive backwards through the field as the season progresses, So they got tho make these first races count. Max drove the car to the fourth spot, the team brought him back to elevent trough a completely botched strategy.

Maybe he should be less vocal about it, but I do understand the frustration. And it is certainly in his best interest to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Just the other day I was watching Hunt let Reutermann trough to have him clear a path for him and attack Lauda. If Sainz was smart he would have done the same. That would certainly be more constructive than smoking up his tyres trying to defend from Verstappen.

oh give it a rest already lol Lewis schooled nobody it all came down to how much grip the medium retained while the softs got worn out on Vettels car catching up to Hamilton..both Hamilton and Rosberg got a gift from Ferrari

Mercedes still the fastest car out there. Rosberg could easily follow Vettel with medium tyres. That was pretty impressive. Also Hamilton gained time on Vettel as soon as he got Sainz out of the way.

Mercedes was beatable last year too when they started bad. But don't see how anyone could've touched them today had they not lost position at the start.

Fernando pretty lucky. Gutierrez gives him no place to survive and we're lucky nothing serious happened afterwards. I wonder how a halo would've influenced this crash. Don't see how Alonso would have managed to get out of the car so easily.

I didn't see very well the start, was it a Vettel excellent start or a bad Mercedes one? Or both?

Now we know why Mercedes was piling up those laps in testing on the Mediums. They would have gathered lot of data to extract the best pace and durability from those mediums. Mediums pretty much an option for every race, they have a solid race tyre. I won't be surprised if it is the mediums in second stint all the way till the last race, the car looks like it is built around the mediums and we'll see other cars matching them in the first stint, but once the medium is on, it will be a different race,

also bit disappointed with Mclarens pace.they were no where since start.i guess their deployment issues may not be sorted yet.

Bit of both. Vettel's start was a blinder and both Mercs were a little sluggish to get going. Hamilton messed up from the moment he parked on his spot I think.

Plus let´s not talk about Sainz not being smart. The fool here is Verstappen who alone almost ruined the weekend for the whole team with his incident with Sainz. The guy has talent but he needs to calm down. (and shut the F&%$ up as well....)

do you understand tire wear and how much it affects pace? old supersofts versus newer mediums .. after about 5 laps the supersofts will lose every time.
the only stint you can draw anything from is the first stint with the same tires with the same amount of wear and the Ferrari was pulling away ( clean air did have an effect)

You can't see direct opponents given Mediums on both drivers and you stuck in "they will stop again Yeah they will". Even me in my bed I knew that Mercedes could try it with 20 laps to go. But I agree thanks for the gift, it's always appreciated

at 20 laps to go everybody knew they would try it but by then it was too late for Ferrari....based on last year i assumed they could do it but i guess Ferrari knew something i didnt lol that was a 12 second lead that the red flag did away with ... oh well on to Bahrain

do you realise that the SS were used and Rosberg got a brand new set of Mediums? it was only a matter of time before the SS went away.. rememberVettel setting fastest lap one after the other? then that was it for the supersofts and Rosberg was in the dominant position...
