TOASTING THE NEW SEASON
Manor Racing partners with the Best Gin in the World*
Manor Racing is getting its 2016 Formula 1 season party schedule started today with the announcement of a new partnership with small batch premium Scottish gin, Daffy’s, ahead of this weekend’s Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.
Like Manor Racing, Daffy’s is a young player, rapidly gaining widespread attention. Within six months of its launch Daffy’s was named London Gin of the Year at the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition 2015.
Daffy’s logo, created by New York artist Robert McGinnis and depicting Daffy, the Goddess of Gin, will be proudly displayed on the turning vanes of the Manor Racing team’s MRT05 race cars. McGinnis, famed for capturing timeless beauties on some of the world’s most iconic film posters (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, James Bond movies – to name but a few), has already embarked on new work featuring Manor Racing and Daffy and celebrating the glamour, energy and purity of classic British racing.
Along with a number of exclusive co-hosted events around the 2016 FIA Formula One World Championship™ calendar, a new limited-edition Manor Racing Daffy’s Gin bottle will launch late spring in selected Waitrose stores across the UK.
Abdulla Boulsien, Manor Racing, said:
“The spirit of Daffy’s as envisioned by Robert McGinnis, perfectly captures the old world glamour and parties that accompanied British racing’s heyday in the sixties and seventies. I’m sure that together Manor Racing and Daffy’s are going to have a memorable year on and off the racetrack.”
Chris Molyneaux, Master Distiller and co-founder of Daffy’s said:
“There is a striking synergy between ourselves and Manor Racing. In our individual fields, we’re smaller, independent players that aim and dream big. There’s a shared passion and love of life and travel, but also a steely determination to stay true to our end ambition and create something exceptional.”
Created by master distiller Chris Molyneaux and his wife Mignonne, who is also the muse for bottle design, Daffy’s is proud of its Scottish roots but also represents its founders’ flair for adventure. Together they travelled across the globe to source the very best botanicals which set this gin apart; juniper from the Balkan States, lemon peel from Southern Spain and Lebanese mint, which creates the soft creamy, toffee notes.
The limited edition Manor Racing Daffy’s Gin bottling will be available from
http://www.daffysgin.com and selected UK Waitrose stores this summer.
