You can see the new waste gate layouts and how the pillar goes through the exhaust. Different solution from HAAS that has split the exhaust in two tubes to bypass the pillar, whilst McLaren simply has a wedge in the single tube.

If he was loosing 1s or 2 s the cars in front would be a bit further at the end of the lap, don't you think?Alonso Fan wrote:engine sounds much better than last yearollandos wrote:https://vid.me/YK1V

My thoughts exactly. Had the gravel trap not been there, I imagine the crash would have been similar to:ergenomic wrote:I have been thinking about this accident and have concluded that the severity was increased by the side impact protection digging into the gravel trap and sending the car airborne. I am of the opinion that the crash would have been less serious, at least the car would not have been airborne, should there have been tarmac in the runoff area.
From my perspective, there has not been enough thought from the FIA about the interaction of the side impact bars with gravel traps. The focus has been hard perpendicular surfaces.
Maybe they're using that waterless coolant?McG wrote:What was all that gold liquid coming from Alonsos radiators when he crashed?
I didn't expect there to be only clear water in radiators but it's an interesting colour.
Here is a good sequence of pictures showing the stuff...
