Renault R.S.16

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

How many nose variants have we seen them test/run so far this year? FP1/2 look to be last year's Brasil variant?

Fair enough. But why is it that the post that sparked the "discussions on colour" is still there?

Being a racing driver means you are racing with other people. And if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver because we are competing, competing to win...

Re: Renault R.S.16

This pic confirms Renault is still using the 2015 gearbox casing (which has been designed for a Merc PU) but other pics show Renault didnt put a spacer between engine and g-box; the latter is directly connected to the former (I assumed before the season kstarts that Renault will put a spacer because its 2015 turbo+compressor air box are obviously bigger than the Merc turbine...) but it seems Renault has just enlarged the turbo ducts openings on each side of the casing...
That means Renault has probably made its turbo-compressor airbox much more compact...
Maybe they finally decided to ditch their disc shaped compressor airbox and put an 'L' shaped duct which is intergrated to the engine's V, similar to Ferrari.

And comparing this pic with all the naked pics of the Renault shows that the RS.16 has no aerodynamic internal bodywork/skin/schieding yet. Probably because of the late PU swap and the time and money shortage, Enstone postponed its développement...
