Gambling on F1

Post

I was wondering if any one else here like to have a punt on motor sport, particularly Formula 1 ?

Both my Brother and I normally place a few small bets each race, mainly for a bit of fun, and it tends to make the races a little more exciting if you've got someone to cheer on.
He actually backed HAAS to finish in the top 6 in Australia, at the fantastic odds of 81/1 :o
Unfortunately he only had $2 on it, but was pretty impressed to turn that into $162 =D>

We both have online betting accounts but with different agencies.
It's a little surprising how much the odds change between the two, but I guess that only reflects how many people have backed certain things within each.

I thought it might be fun if I posted the odds for each race if any one's interested.
It might give a glimpse of what the public, (well the betting public), thinks the likely outcome will be.

No odds up for Bahrain yet, but I'll post them within the next day or two.

Anyone else have a gamble on F1 ?

Was seriously tempted when one company was offering 3/1 on a Mercedes winning in Abu Dhabi.
I was tempted to put a lot of money on that!

Back in 2013 i started betting on F1 races, but just with a small amount of money which i basically was prepared to lose if I failed to win. Trippled the amount over that season. Than in 2014 I lost some, because of taking too much risk. Still got more than i started with, so the fun continues and i place a bet every now and then. I just put a conservative €3 on Raikkonen to win the Bahrain GP at 17/1 :)

That's pretty much what we have done mate.
We never bet too high and have lost a little over the years, but only a small amount and it's fun to get a win now and then.

I use CentreBet here in Aus' and they've only just put the odds up for Bahrain.
Kimi is 13/1.

I'll have a good look and post all the odds shortly :)

I will give you a hot tip than has won me thousands.

First retirement.

Watch the pre race, and live bet. There is mountains of cash to be made. Just be very careful and read the terms and conditions of the betting agency in regards for first retirement. Some state that they must complete the warm up lap and some dont. That is where you clean up.

Surprised to see Sainz is at better odds for pole and fast lap than Verstappen.

I'll do my best not to piss everyone off....................or is that a good thing sometimes

Just a quick question for you guys, because I'm a computer dumbo to be honest.
Is there an easy way for me to make this into some sort of table for each race ?
At the moment I'm just copying and pasting from the betting site, and it looks like crap here.
If I put all the odds for a race weekend up, we would be scrolling down for eons !

Any suggestions ?

Cheers

Can you bet on the fastest lap during the race? If one of the top four or five teams boxes a car for fresh options with 10 or 15 laps to go they'd be a pretty sure bet for fastest lap (e.g. Ricciardo in Australia)... If you were quick I guess you could place a bet before the odds changed drastically?
