WRC 2007 - Marcus Vs Sebastien

Post

Man, what a season finish its gonna be for 2007. Marcus and Sebastien locked on a head to head combat. Yet to watch the Jap rally, coz i missed it. By that time, only 6 pts. separated the two of them. I have a feeling Marcus might just win it. What say?

Actually there was only 4 points between them coming into Japan, I'll not tell you the results though, surfice to say it will surprise you :D

I think Loeb will win this one, although if he wins the final 2 events with Gronholm second they will be tied on points. Loeb will have 4 wins over the Fin though and I think thats how it will end.

Pleasant viewing.

Bloody hell! a tie! Yeah, i stil dont know the results of the Jap rally, but i saw the highlights of day 1 and Marcus crashed on the tricky left-hander, giving way to fellow finn Mikko and rival Sebastien. Day 2 highlights were to be aired at 0430hrs, but cudnt get up. Briliant driving by Mikko though, managed to keep loeb at bay, briliant. Although im guessing that loeb might have won it, coz he was only 7sec behind. Another good drive by Jari-Matti as well, he s got a great future, reminds me of Kimi in the Sauber

At the start of the season Marcus said he would retire if he won the champ this year.

I don't follow

rallying all that much, but I'm under the distinct impression that he's going to retire no matter what (don't know why I'm writing this, as I'm sure some investigative work should settle the issue ... well, call it intentional speculation). Been somewhat surprised that Marcus has been as close to Loeb as he is, Sébastien really set a new standard as to how fit and coordinated rally drivers can be (being a former gymnast and all). But it's always good when things are close. Is rallying televised/streamed live, anywhere?

Rallying is on some far out ITV channel, it used to be ont ITV1 on Sundays but I think they changed that in he middle of the season. Eurosport is best coverage with at least half an hour on the night of every event. But its almost always delayed and often by a few hours. That can really put you off.

Seb is struggling alot this year in a new car which still needs ironed out a little, he's made some rare mistakes too but reacently he's been coming back to top form with several wins on the trot.

I hope Marcus doesn't retire. If he does the best thing to do would be to put Seb in a mini and Hirrovnen in an Escort. Otherwise they'll run and hide.

yeah marcus announced he is going to retire win or no win of the championship. real pity but he has been around a long time now. hirvonen has shown he can be a leader of the team, big thing is who will replace marcus?? maybe latvala? he has improved so much recenlty, but the big rumours doing the rounds not long ago were petter solberg was going back to ford...

i hope marcus wins the wc too, be a nice way to finish off. it will be close though. very close.

What about Wilson? I haven't seen anything particularely special from him and I don't think Malcolm is the kind of guy to give his son a seat over a better driver, but the again I don't know Malcolm.
