Williams?? williams is nothing but a moving chicane and shouldnt be a barometer for performance in F1.

And yet they run a Mercedes engine, and record the fastest straightline speeds week in and week out.
They too were overtaken by the Renault powered Red Bull at the end of one of the longest straights in F1.

Are you forgetting about the rule that says drivers are to try to avoid an accident? Kvyat is a baby who think everyone should just move aside for him. He was crying later in the race because he couldn't get past Palmer i think.

Kvyat did make it around the corner but mainly because the Ferraris weren't there anymore, he went really wide just after forcing Vettel into Kimi, he clearly had understeering here

Tyres help, DRS helps. But there is more to it than that....

Gearing will influence top speed, and if the final gear is too long, you wont attain high top speeds unless you get a tow.
If it's too short, you bounce of the limiter. Red Bull could utilise this to help with faster straightline cars, taking a slight hit for clean air top speed for a slight increase in tow assisted air.
I'll remind you that this was one of the longest straights in the F1 calender, and the move was done at the end of the straight. DRS, Tyres, gearing, power are all factors here.
While the Renault is down on the Mercedes, it is now closer than it had been at any time in the V6 turbo formula.
And Ricciardo himself says there has been a big improvement from Renault on the sky interview.

Time and time again we see races where the front wings are damaged and drivers then complain the car is undrivable. Why not just get rid of front wings and allow the drivers to drive these difficult to drive cars?

Re the qualifying.
I think that a proposal where there is no qualifying but the grid is the reverse of the last race finish would work well.
It would provide more interest and overtaking.
