This just went from bad to absolute shocker. :/
No I don't think so, not until they've used up more than the allocated components do grid place penalties start.

Rosberg for an easy win, Kimi to finish second or crash with Bottas in first corner. Vettel for third spot.

Ham to start from pits and take 4th or 3rd depending on Kimi/Bottas situation.

Yes it does, not because of engine penalty but parc ferme rules.

Unfortunately, the cars are under parc-ferme and since Hamilton participated in Qualifying, he is under those rules. So I'm fairly sure it means he either starts from 10th with the broken engine or if they need to change it, it will be back of the grid.

EDIT: Sevach beat me to it.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Considering the enormous car advantage it would be worth while starting from the pits on softs and pitting on lap 1 for supers and just --- gunning it thereafter.

I gotta say kudos to Hamilton for still looking calm and collected.

Every other top driver in history, except MS maybe, would be going nuts(including younger Hamilton).

If Rosberg doesn't mess something at start he's going to have a super easy victory

There were some slow motion replays of the Nico's Mercedes car where some vortices were visible. Does anyone have screenshots or a gif of those pretty vortices?

Here's a vid of the slow motion, no doubt others will appear pretty soon, it was happening a lot.

- He was so calm he forgot turn 2 rules. Where is a penalty, how much time do they need to judge a clear infringement like that? This running off track probably caused his problems too ;-)
- Raikkonen slower than Bottas, nice. Third year openly in "fired mid-season" form.
- "Best chassis" is 1,7 s behind Merc, where is Marko gloating now? Perhaps it was tyre management that was partly responsible for Red Bull's pace? While all other cars were not pushing 100% Red Bull was fine. This is disgusting F1 where tyres decide the pace, random too like in '12 - just look at Williams.

Does this rule not apply?

Any work not listed above may only be undertaken with the approval of the FIA technical delegate following a written request from the team concerned. It must be clear that any replacement part a team wishes to fit is similar in design, mass, inertia and function to the original. Any parts removed will be retained by the FIA

Toto was saying on Sky that they will talk to the FIA about what they can do in terms of changing the components without penalty so I guess avoiding penalty is possible. Lets see.
