Scuderia Ferrari SF16-H

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Sidepods are said to weigh less than the previous version
The report of the new sidepods and diffusor were from Bild.de, not what I would call a regular source of F1 tech news:

http://www.bild.de/sport/motorsport/seb ... .bild.html

So I don't put to much faith that these parts will appear on the car. Also no similar info at this point from more reliable F1 sources, like AMUS or Autosport.

In the expanded view it looks new, I don't ever remember seeing that opening or whatever it is on the floor behind the barge board before. But that area is very under photographed so its hard to tell

New rear wing. Endplates look to be the same. More camber in the mainplane, and steeper AOA on the upper flap. The new wing is being used with the monkey seat, the old without. The more aggressive nature of the new wing may need the influence of the monkey seat to prevent stall. The leading edge of the upper flap on the new wing appears to have a slight upward curvature in the center, mirroring the leading edge of the mainplane.

Comparison with Vettel (new) and Kimi (old), the changes are subtle :

Brake ducts on the above look slightly different.

Are they both running new sidepods? Tough to see but they look like they're running the same as each other

I haven't seen any indication of new sidepods, or diffusor being used at this point. Just the monkey seat, and new rear wing.

Ferrari PU in SF16-H.
Have they reverted from the innovative sidepod from SF15-T to a more conventional one in this car.

The cheapest sort of pride is national pride, every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.

Turns out Bild got it right lol.

I kept looking for a more aggressive slope, something like the SF15T Barcelona and didn't notice this.

Also, radiators are V design this season. Ferrari had that in F2005.

I will give you the sidepod inlets, but see no evidence of any change to the diffusor.
