So, I just read that Nico Rosberg has hired Gerard Berger to be his manager to do the negotiations for his new contract. Someone with very good ties with Ferrari and McLaren. Oh, beautiful gossip coming! And a brilliant way to put a bit of pressure on Mercedes.

Well done Nico! (But my guess he's staying with Mercedes)

He is very fast over one lap!

But I hope he gets better on racepace, and racecraft.
Only then would he be a good fit for Ferrari, and i agree with you that it would be awesome.

A Verstappen vs Sainz part 2 only in different cars/teams.
I think he is improving in this aspect. He has shown a similar pace to Max. The only aspect where Max is clearly superior is overtaking. I think we will see the best version of Carlos during this season.
STR is back with Renault in 2017, so maybe 4th team next year. Not a bad place to stay and learn for both Kvyat and Carlos. They can still become great drivers, if they learn to manage their races.

Massa/Bottas again for Williams, so another lock on the 2017 grid change.

Motorsport says Massa is talking to Renault.

May be a win-win, since Renaul needs to improve its duo but, at the moment, is not atractive to the big names. Also, Brasil is one of the greatest markets of the brand.

For Felipe, its his last bet to try something good. Williams seems to be going backwards and a factory team is always a good choice.

I wonder how Kvyat and Massa would go together at Renault in 2017? Good drivers, Kvyat would benefit of leaving RedBull plus Russia and, like said above, Brazil are big for Renault.

Though I personally would prefer to see Carlos going to Renault, Massa-Kvyat would be a good choice. Experience and talent, because the Russian has it and to change of team would renew his ambition and motivation.

For Carlos, I think a third year at STR wouldn't be a bad thing. It's a bit of a gamble hoping a class one seat for 2018 opens up. But with the current way teams pick their drivers, wandering around from team to team before you get real results doesn't work anymore. He needs to get to a race winning seat straight from STR. I don't think Renault will be that. McLaren might, if Alonso's contract ends or ReBull if Ricardo leaves.

Where did this combination come from :wtf: ?
- Massa - it's about age and declining performance. Do they need a Brazilian or what to sell cars there? OK, driver for a season and then what, they'll take Piquet jr ? It doesn't make sense at all.
- Kvyat - quality or rather lack thereof. Monaco recent of many examples.
As for the line-up I won't even speculate or suggest because there's no point - F1 teams are run by corporate marketoids with no clue about the sport.

Anyone who thought that replacing Maldonado with either Palmer or Magnussen but especially together was a good move for Renault doesn't know much about F1. They look better on posters though, not much demographic for Venezuelans with perpetual smearing campaign against them by selective journos and crowd.

He is very young so he has time. If he continues peforming well and having some luck(and not f*cked by the team) he will have chances, not perhaps in 2017 but for sure in 2018. Anyway TR is not the best place to stay because they like to change drives after two-three years.

There are several options:

-Renault
-Williams
-Ferrari(ok, to dream is free, why not?)

since both palmer and magnussen have managed to wreck their vehicles i must agree to some degree that it's worth wondering whether Renault is better off without Pastor. The main question offcourse is whether Maldonado actually still brought money to the table. if not, it's an easy decision. Also, it might be worth noting there is an ongoing investigation on corruption regarding the Venezuelan government and where money went. There is some suspicion on the case of Maldonado's funding - that does not mean Pastor is in any way guilty, but his funders (PDVSA) could, and the last thing Renault wants is another run of controversy.

Pure speculation on my behalf. I only imagine Kvyat's manager knocking on every door in F1 at the moment.

Speaking of Maldonado, it seems as though -if he can find a way- he's not done with Formula 1 yet!

Although given the price of oil and the state of near-collapse Venezuela is in, I don't rate his chances. Still, good to see his... personal belief... hasn't been diminished:

i still miss Petrov in F1, come to think of it. Could've seen him @ Force India tbh. He wasn't a Schumacher but imho he showed enough talent. But then again, there are a lot that don't make the cut.

a wise man once said:

to finish first, you first have to finish.......which brings me to the point where if he wanted a good car, he should have finished first.....meanwhile, he actually won a GP.

I don't miss him at all, though he brought some comedy to the field. Instead, kvyat took over. Who can forget Pastor's flip-a-mexican talents?

His talent was enough to ruin Alonso´s chances to win 2015s championship. :D
