Shocking from Lewis today, reminds me of Austria 2014, easily had the pace for pole but keeps messing it up

Oh...starting tires gone and now Ham verstapped his wheel in the wall...
Ros and Vet front row, Rai behind. Should be a nice one with a good Ferrari start.
Will be an interesting race!

Mercedes AFAIK takes turns in who has track position. Hamilton had track position first, and messed up, then on the last run, Rosberg was ahead and had track position, hence he wasnt affected by it. (Or he was able to complete the lap before).

What a pitty. I would have loved to see a genuine race bentween the two Mercs throughout the race. We might still get that, given there is a virtual guarantee of a safetycar tomorrow. If Hamilton can stay out of trouble, he may be well up the order before lap 1 ends. But he'll be starting right in chaos. Good thing the narrow bit starts after turn 3/4 and not sooner...
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Hamilton what a foul up... Rookie mistake.

Tomorrow the race's gonna be very boring with Rosberg disappearing into the distance...

Checo is going to get a 5 place grid penalty for gearbox change or not?

What does it even mean? He crashed, nothing to do with track position, the end. Surprisingly it wasn't Maldonado but Hamilton in the best car and with guaranteed 2nd.

You didn't enjoy Canada, Spain and Monaco then? Doubt it but OK. LH should push 6 drivers off track at the start and he'll be fine.

Not this again, he clearly didn't have the pace (especially here) without spinning or crashing.

- Go Perez, let's hope he keeps the position. Edit: I didn't know he had grid penalty. FI drivers messed up their best chance in a long time.
- Verstappen doesn't know basic rules, he loses control under pressure, goes off, comes back into the path of Bottas and whines on the radio. He should get a penalty for that, or better two: both dangerous driving and talking nonsense.

As a Lewis fan, that was so painful to watch. He looked really uncomfortable and was constantly locking up. The signs were there FP3, but I thought Merc would've just reverted to their Friday setup.
