This is pretty much what I expect, and with an ill timed safty car you could easily see Lewis beat Nico.

OK I'll mark them, especially this very specific part "I can see lewis pressuirng nico into crashing into a bckmarker". What's the prize? The reality now is it's Rosberg's pace that pressurized Hamilton into a wall and several run off areas. After rewatching:

- Bottas - Verstappen 1 - 100% Verstappen's fault, overtaking attempt wasn't even good enough, panicked and went off on his own
- Bott-Verst 2 - Verstappen overtook Bottas earlier (he should have stayed behind) and now Red Bull shout about unnecessary overtakes :wtf:? Why did you overtake him yourself then?

The Merc is so advantaged here I can't see anyone challenging them. If Lewis can keep his head on early, he will plow through the field with that front 2k straight. Nico had better run if he wants to win this one. If VET or RIC jumps him at the start he will be in trouble me thinks.

Sad Ferrari can't find a better balance here. Maybe tomorrow in race form they will improve--especially with their strategy team.

bottas and ricciardo went over on Q3, daniel definitely more like nico's lap.
Just drop this track limits nonsense.
0.4 seconds in the last sector Juzh...
Quite a bit I agree.
But this is the longest straight on the calendar, if you factor that the 2 corners prior are flat.

That can be made up in other areas, yet we don't see it in the other sectors.

They were mighty in qualifying for sure. The race will be won at the start, if Nico gets mugged Vettel will get his first win. The difference is race pace, Ferrari has it, the gap is the same as in Monaco, Riccardo will come in second, Rosberg will go down an escape road and finish behind Hamilton, who won't make the podium as Riccardo tries desperately to get a tow on Vettel.

So what is the starting tire situation for Lewis? Did he not flat spot his starting set in Q2?

why is there no option to hide accounts that you're ignoring completely - including all posts that quote them? would be way less trash to read

according to sky lewis might be allowed to replace damaged tyres with tyres from another set that are older or just as old as the set he used in Q2 ... i just wonder what would happen if all his sets were flatspotted ... i'm pretty sure at least half of his used sets are unusable

I'd think for safety reasons he would not be allowed to start on flat spotted tires...but since when has logic been a part of an FIA rule? lol :D

remember when they had the "one tyre set for the whole race" rule and kimi flatspotted his tyre at the beginning of the race and had a lead big enough to pit for different tyres but couldn't and then his suspension broke on the penultimate lap? so yea... FIA is weird at times

Why RIC starts in front of VET? He set his time after VET. Is the rule changed?

GPR-A wrote:Finally, the nonsense of other PU manufacturers having caught up with Mercedes would be laid to rest. Christian Horner rightly said, "If there ever a circuit was built for Mercedes, this is it".

While everyone improved from Q2 to Q3, Nico's pole lap in Q3 was 2.3 tenths slower than his Q2 lap. So, arguably, there was lot more to come from that Mercedes. Even if Nico's Q2 time is considered, the best Ferrari and the best Red Bull are a second and half slower. On many other circuits where down force played a role, the difference hovered around half a second and here, as the PUs are laid bare open, the difference is day and night.

Most likely, due to their power advantage, the Mercedes are running a bit more down force than Ferrari and Red Bull. So, even if half a second is attributed to the down force advantage, there is still full one second that can be attributed to the PU. So, it is safe to say that, Mercedes has, at a minimum, 80 HP over Renault and Ferrari. And to the nightmare of Honda, they are probably more than100 HP down. And this, with Mercedes NOT having introduced any upgrades in the season, whereas all others have brought significant upgrades so far.

Mercedes has brought an upgrade this year, it was a fuel system update, tokens used

Your certainty over such a specific and random event is alarming.

Probably won't go trough. A simple lock up and you can change the tires? I don't think so. Otherwise everyone would do it by "mistake" after they've done their lap.
They'd have to swap "like for like," so it would be swapped for a tire that has similar mileage. Kinda pointless to do on purpose.

Yea it´s easy flat for everyone from what i can see.
Thanks.

Should be an interesting race with Hamilton and possibly Verstappen out of position, and the high propensity for carnage.

Obviously Lewis is your favourite, so I understand your belief.

It's definitely a possibility though!
