Parody of motorsport continues, I guess he "earned" his seat as Marchionne said just before this race by being slow in Austria. On top of messing up every single race apart from the 1st one. People believe those cheap manipulators.

Told you:
- Ricciardo - staying
- Raikkonen - staying
- Rosberg - practically staying
I want my points.

Yeah, you were right, unfortunately. Personally, once Ricciardo was confirmed at RBR, it was a foregone conclusion.

Well as long as Vettel is at Ferrari, Kimi isn't going anywhere unless his form completely drops off a cliff.

I think Mercedes really wanted Verstappen, and Ferrari really wanted Ricciardo.
Once they were out of the market, there were not a lot of options.

Never seen a year contractwise, that was decided this "early" usually it al comes to play around Monza.

This confirmation comes right after Kimi's announcement. Surely that means there was some truth to the rumours about Checo negotiating with Ferrari?

Supposedly, the contract had been signed for weeks, but Checo kept flirting with Ferrari.

Big chance he has an option in his contract for when Ferrari knocks on his door (or Mercedes of course)

As much as I like Kimi, I would love a younger and more hungry driver in Ferrari. Ricciardo, Perez, or maybe even Hulk.

Yes. It would be ideally to have a WC driver in every works team with an up and coming star next to him, with a satellite team with talented young drivers.

But with Ferrari being keen on their young driver program, just like Mercedes and to a lesser extent (because they did promote a few drivers) McLaren, they can't keep their holding on to these older drivers.

I doubt that.

For Mercedes what they got (regardless of how you rate their drivers) is enough driver skill to take home the championships.
Even if Verstappen is godlike, like if everyone knew he was a second clear of everyone else in pure skill they still would not need him because of the car.

Mercedes just need the top 5 (if even that) to secure championships.

Edit: Ferrari though i agree with, they actually need that extra edge, unlike Mercedes.

Mercedes dominance is not guaranteed past 2016 so I don't think that is exactly their line of reasoning.

In the end it doesn't really matter it seems, the difference between the cars are bigger then the differences between the top 10-15 drivers. As long as they keep finishing in pairs, there is no real need to change.
At the moment in the driver standing, the only ones who stands out are Perez and Grosjean.
