Williams has openly admitted it is struggling to improve the operating window of the FW38, as it is at sea in terms of understanding the tyres and adding downforce.
It completed extensive set-up and correlation work at the post-British GP test and hope to make improvements based on those findings in Hungary.
A new pair of wing mirror stalks have been introduced in Budapest that have a horizontal section that places the mirrors higher than their predecessors (inset).
Whilst the logical conclusion may be that they help the driver's field of vision you can expect they have further aerodynamic benefits.
Placing the mirrors up higher will put them out of the way of the aerodynamic devices on the leading edge of the sidepod, hopefully improving their efficiency and increase downforce.
