What was the difference in sector times? How much fuel did Rosberg have aboard for his best sector times? What's the time loss through S3 with another car less than a second in front of you? How many times has Hamilton passed Nico this season when they've been on same rubber (or vice versa)?

Yes, unpredictable external factors may well change things. I felt that went without saying though.

Apparently Nico was fueled for 3 timed laps in case they were needed, so he got his pole with two extra laps worth of fuel on-board.
In most cases, the majority is below the average.

Pity for Hulkenberg, drops one place for team's tyre mistake. He used tyres in qualifying that were supposed to have been returned after free practice.

So he was faster in one attempt with heavier car than Lewis in 2 attempts, and yet he was (again) slower in Q2.

So, it's official now, that Ferrari is behind Red Bull ! On a circuit that is 60% full throttle, the difference between the faster RB and the faster Ferrari is 4 tenths. On race pace too, based on FP2, the Ferrari is behind the RB.

Red Bull had better pace during FP in Hungary but not during the race. We will see tomorrow what will happen.

Penalties for Sainz (3 places) and Grosjean (5 places) too.
http://www.formula1.com wrote:Sainz has been issued a three-place penalty after being deemed to have unfairly impeded Williams' Felipe Massa in Turn 2 during the second phase of qualifying on Saturday afternoon.

The Spaniard, who had qualified 13th for Toro Rosso, was also handed two penalty points on his Superlicence - taking him to four points in total, of the permitted 12 within a calendar year.

Grosjean's penalty meanwhile relates to a gearbox change that Haas were forced to make between FP3 and the start of qualifying.

The Frenchman, who had booked 15th, will drop five places.

Hulkenberg meanwhile has been docked one place for a technical breach regarding the tyres they used in qualifying.

Red bull had better race pace in hungary but their various strategy calls to challenge mercedes backfired on them and left them struggling for pace on old tires. At the start of the race they were pulling away from vettel with ease.

Does somebody have sectortimes of Q3?

I tought Verstappen was on course to split the Mercs, but he lost in in S3 in his final run?

Mighty lap from Rosberg, very nice to watch.
But i think Hamilton is going to win this one, he is super hungry for wins ....

Hoping there's no turn one hijincks tomorrow and that Nico doesn't lose the race after turn one like he did last week. It would make for a real display of Mercedes pace should these two have to actually race for a victory.

Besides the RB12 now being a match for the SF16-H, I think the drivers are making the difference as well. RIC is incredibly strong in qualifying, VES is almost matching him. VET used to be strong in qualy as well, but it just isn't happening, and he is making RAI look good in the process. Part of the issue can probably be linked to the Ferrari being hard to set-up, but bottom line is Red Bull as a team are doing a better job at the moment.
