Lots of Thin skinned Williams
fanboys here...
I'm sorry if I offended you. I'm a Honda fanboy if anything. I want to see all teams do well as its good for the sport. Again I apologize it's not my intention to stir up people's emotions.

OFFICIAL: Felipe Massa will retire from F1 at the end of this year. Abu Dhabi will be his 250th and final race.

Looks more likely that Jenson will end his career at Williams, just as Williams decline in competitive-ness.
Mercedes favouring Sahara Force India now? :?

IMHO, Massa made the right decision to retire and chose the right time to do it. I will remember him as a good driver that was unlucky to not being world champion when he was on his "pinnacle".

But I don't get what Williams and Button could achieve from this possible partnership...Williams would do better with a young promising driver and Button will not achieve anything new on his carreer from now on...

Hasn't Button dismissed a Williams switch? Perez to Williams maybe?

I think it would be a good deal for both parties, not directly a sporting success, more a financial one. In the coming years, with ten cars on the grid that are backed by big budgets, it's almost a certain midfield. A good name that goes well with the Martini branding and knows how to deliver at the moments when there is an opportunity, might come in handy. For button it's another few good years for his bank account and being part of F1.

Just as what would be the point of Perez going to Williams. Force India <--> Williams

None I think indeed. From midfield to midfield, look what it brought Hulk. Perez has clearly set his eye on a works team seat, so I imagine his managers are trying a long term deal with Renault or a contract with Ferrari for 2018.

from Joe Saward

"The suggestion is that the team will soon confirm that Jenson Button will join Valtteri Bottas, but the two parties are still believed to be discussing money."

Goodbye Massa.

Surely he will replaced not by Button but by Wehrlein.

As in:

Toto: "Hey Claire, want Merc engines till 2018?"
Claire: "Sure!"
Toto: "Put Wehrlein in that open seat when Felipe retires."

I think Jenson is looking to cement is "legacy" in the sport by being the one man to topple Barichello's most GPs run record. Will he take 1/3 his current salary to do it? How many Jenson Button/Williams t-shirts and hats does Williams think it can sell?

The math will determine the outcome.

I'm not ruling Perez into Williams with Wherlein into Force India.

I thought Lance was Stroll-ing his way to the other seat at Williams. It'd be foolish for Perez to go to Williams, it's at best a lateral move.

Ferrari, Mercedes, and Red Bull are all spoken for. Toro Rosso will only promote drivers within it's own(Red Bull) ranks, so a shuffle here is impossible. That leaves a seat open at Williams, possibly Force India, two seats at Renault(as much as I like KMag I don't see him staying), Haas may shuffle it's lineup, Vandoorne is almost all but confirmed at McLaren, but we don't know for sure yet. This leaves Manor, would Wehrlein hold ship until 2018 when a Mercedes seat becomes available?

Unusual quote from Perez.
Sergio Perez said, not wrote: "It looks like what is going to happen is what I always wanted so I am very happy for that."
Sounds like a change. He's hoping to announce by Singapore (on the 16-18th).

Sauce.
