Grid drops for Raikkonen and Button...
formula1.com wrote:Raikkonen will drop from third to eighth thanks to a five-place penalty for an unscheduled gearbox change.

Button - who qualified 17th - will start from the back of the grid for McLaren partner Honda’s home race, after they took the strategic decision to give the Briton a fresh engine, turbocharger, MGU-H, MGU-K, Energy Store and Control Electronics.

They still had a qualy boost. The engine had a slightly thicker oil to keep the engine reliable is the only difference.
Source on the fact that they did indeed have qualy boost please.

Expected result tbh. Surely you didn't expect a sensible strategy?

Mercedes has won the 2016 F1 constructors' championship.

So Lewis messing up his start gave us some exciting moments in the race. Ferrari's strategy was a mess

Verstappen moving under braking. Wonder how far they will let him take it before he gets a penalty. Another howler from Ferrari.

Still waiting for that huge accident Verstappen is gonna cause by moving at the last moment before braking!! And the stewards just keep caressing him! For God shake what on earth is going on with Hamilton's starts...it robbed us of a good fight! At least we saw some nice moves! Great race! =D> =D>

Congrats to Mercedes for their 3rd constructors title, cool race by ROS, and good recovery from HAM after that horrible start.

Vettel finished 14.5 seconds behind Lewis, there are no words to describe Ferrari's strategy decisions. Mercedes strategy guys did a mega job for Lewis because 8th to 3rd seemed impossible after the first 10 laps, if only they used that engine in Malaysia though.

Not before. During braking.
I´m still amazed FIA just let´s it fly every single time he does it.

Watching from Lewis's camera from behind, I think this move was very Kosher.

That's right...during braking!! I mean ok very nice defending from him but that last bit was awful...that's what led to Alonso taking off into the wall in Australia!

He made one blocking move to the inside but Lewis was fully behind of him.
