Ron Dennis set to leave McLaren top job when contract expires ?!

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.ph ... en-top-job

Autosport reports that Ron will leave his role at the end of 2016. His departure will end an association with the Formula 1 team stretching back to 1980 and leave open the role of CEO, McLaren Technology Group, which comprises McLaren Racing, McLaren Marketing and McLaren Applied Technologies.

McLaren Automotive, the separately-constituted road car division, is not affected by any change of leadership at McLaren Technology Group.

Dennis's exit will mark the culmination of two years of behind-the-scenes boardroom struggle at McLaren, since his return to the Group CEO role in January 2014.

So what now for Mclaren, is this another power struggle inside the organization?

Just because somebody wrote an article on the internet doesn't mean it's right. I hope Ron stays in his position and he certainly seems to have no intention of going anywhere.

Key words - when his contract expires... we know how fickle contract are.

it says in the article that his contract expires at the end of this season?
Dennis, 69, will not have his current contract renewed when it expires at the end of this year.

You are new to F1 are you? I direct you to an old man called Bernie Ecclestone. He will tell you all about contracts in F1.

There were rumors a while back that Honda was pissed with Dennis because of him passing on possible sponsors because they weren't willing to pay "what Mclaren is worth", and Honda had to cover the "budget shortfall"...

What i never got about the current Mclaren structure is, what's Boullier's role(besides saying stupid things to the press) if Dennis is in there running things and calling the shots?

The Verge, Sep 21, 2016 wrote:Apple approached British supercar-maker McLaren to discuss an acquisition or a strategic investment in the firm, reports the Financial Times. The talks are said to have been in progress for several months. The New York Times separately reported that talks were underway as well. Bloomberg reported that Apple is more interested in a large investment than an outright acquisition.

25% is not a controlling interest.
