The project has not been updated after the test I have dobe with my 2015 car.

hah your project but partly my idea :D

anyway, i'm using Sketchup for car design, (mainly curviloft) exporting to .stl with a sketchup plugin, if the .stl is too large then I import it into paraview and decimate it, usually gives good results.

in the future, like, when I have more than 10 spare minutes in my life, I plan to replace sketchup with maybe blender
You can consider the original idea 100% as yours, I don't believe in I.P. :)
The problem is to realise it!
I really hope it eventually does get done. it would be so awesome!

Ok time for results:

Congratulations to CAEdevice with the second victory this season. P4 does not fit him anymore.
TF was close to victory, only slightly slower than CAEdevice but a penalty cost him a position. I think in Le Mans his car should easily win.
Big thanks to Chris as his fast compliance checking make the results within a week possible.

Wow 5th place is a surprise thought i had made a small improvement but not that much. my guess is i got near to 100% engine power.
I know i had a penalty but how much was it?

Not sure how much time i will have before the next round to fix things up and make any changes.

Congratulations to JJR, it is impressive how close our cars are one to the other this year. I am proud to be as fast as you, after looking at your top performances for a couple of years.

TF race was great too: you probably changed the evolution of the MVRC cars for the efficiency races. I am convinced that your car is only at first development stage and that a df/dr ratio around 5 is possible for you.

I expected more from Variante and TeamHP, but they can recover for Le Mans.

Thanks, as always, to André and Chris: I really would like see them on the track.

Now time for an announcement done by the sponsor: it would not be tasteful to consider itself when assigning the final prize, so CAEdevice team will be excluded from the final rank for the prize assignment (subscription to Racecar Engineering or equivalent value if you already have one).

Everything can be found at the challenge page, calendar and results. I am too lazy to make a screenshot of the table so just head over and have a look. The penalty time was 107% of the best time as the average time was slower then that.

I never thought i would get punished this much by not using mwflow. Sad part is that i continued to develop that car with mwflow and it does 1:45s around sepang at the moment.

Well the stl files have around 400-500k polys. That would be a nightmare to mapping (for me at least).

100k polys would be ok for fluid graphics.
There is an interesting UV plugin for SWX, but it cost a bit more than I can afford. Lets wait and see how much MVRC will grow up and I can reconsider it in a couple of years :)

Yeah i exaggerated a bit i guess. I checked my carbody and it is around 100k polys. Still with the wings, tires, suspensions it should be around 200-250k polys. I dont know everthing about 3ds max (naturaly) so maybe there is a way to maping this kinda big files but in my experience without a tool or script it would be pretty time consuming to mapping that.

Thank you TalnoRacing. I have done only three simulations of the car that raced in Sepang, but I corrected a balancing issue that slowed me at Nurburgring. I think that the car I will send to Sao Paulo will be almost the same.

Btw, I noticed that timelaps of the first 2 or 3 cars are much more realistic this year, compared to LMP1 cars.

Great race!
Awesome battle for the first place amongst three great cars. I honestly thought JJR would have won it by a small margin, but I was wrong. TF finally unleashed its speed...I've been observing and waiting for this moment for a couple of years.

The rest of the field is quite tightly packed too! A pity that cooling issues are still conditioning the results.
